THE STORY BEHIND SCHWINGENSCHLÖGEL

This success story began when coppersmith craftsman and company founder Ernst SCHWINGENSCHLÖGEL founded a coppersmith business in Salzburg in 1900. His sons followed in his footsteps and continued running the business with great commitment even in difficult times of economic recession.

Entrepreneurial vision and innovation coined the business from the word go, driving the consistent development of the company from coppersmith to leading manufacturer of road tankers and silo trucks.

The company was a leader in their field in the mid-forties already when it replaced copper with aluminium and simultaneously also became a driving force in the development of metal inert gas welding. This also changed the products. While at first only stationary storage tanks were produced, the potential of combining container construction with vehicle construction soon became evident.

The first road tanker for transporting mineral oils was constructed in 1949, laying the foundation of the company today. Numerous national and international companies have since then placed their trust in our innovative SCHWINGENSCHLÖGEL products to thereby ensure their own success.
